We take responsibility
for our impact on the
world; it's always going
to be a part of the
good stuff we do

Whilst many of us are always on the hunt for a bargain, we very rarely think about where the products we buy have come from and whether someone has suffered in order for us to pay such a low price for them. It is heartbreaking to think that some of the most beautiful baby products are created by children or people in very poor conditions. However it is a reality and as we cant always know this information ourselves, it is up to the brands we put our trust in to act ethically and responsibly.

Little Nest Co. will always guarantee that our products come from safe and reputable sources. For example, our organic cotton range means that farmers don’t have to work with poisonous pesticides; our candles are hand poured in England by experts in this field and where possible, we will give back in the form of charitable donations or contributions to suppliers so that we are doing our bit to make the world a happier place.

As a brand, we will take on the responsibility for making our planet healthier and the lives of those living on it better, making it one less thing for you to worry about. And because we want to show you how your purchases are contributing towards the good stuff we do, we will keep you updated through our giving back page.

A fundamental part of our brand ethos is to be good; including the simple act of giving back. That is why a percentage of our profits will always go towards a charitable cause. We will continuously look at ways in which we can make a real difference to the people in our community (also known as planet Earth) and the environment (also known as planet Earth). We trust you too so would welcome any suggestions you might have.

The Good Stuff We Do

Organic Cotton Baby Blanket

Our Essentials organic cotton range is manufactured by a fully certified and accredited factory in India. Other than their expertise, one of the amazing things about them is their work with an organisation created solely to improve the lives of independent farmers.

Set up in 2004 they work with small and marginal farmers towards improving their livelihood options and making farming a sustainable and profitable occupation. Their mission is to promote economically and socially viable agrarian based living in rain-fed and other ecologically depressed regions. Their commitment and dedication has meant they have grown from 234 farmer members in 2004 to 35,852 in 2014.

By doing business with these organisations we are already contributing towards a positive change for the working conditions of farmers, but we wanted to do more. So, from the sale of all clothes from our Essentials range, we will make a quarterly donation towards something specifically for their members. This may include equipment for the local school, essential items for the community or just a contribution to the marketing efforts to raise awareness of their work. Any suggestion from our nesters are also welcome!

Each of our candles always comes presented in a luxurious little nest of its own, but for launch we’ve done things a little differently. We asked local children from All Saints’ Primary School in Peterborough to craft and design 200 boxes. Crazy right?! Wrong. The results are amazing and unique and if you are one of the first 200 to purchase a candle, you will receive a one of a kind box created by anyone aged 4-45 (yes, some of the teachers got stuck in too!). We asked our little designers to get as creative as they wanted and each box has been signed with the little artists name.

Getting local children involved in helping to launch our brand was really important to us, but the good stuff doesn’t end there. £1 from the sale of each of these candles will go directly to Candlelighters, a charity that works towards fighting childhood cancer. The charity has been established for over 40 years and their work includes funding essential equipment, supporting families financially and emotionally as well as investing hundreds of thousands of pounds each year in to research which will help to save lives in future.

You can read more about the work of Candlelighters (registration number 1045077) here. We feel honoured to be able to contribute towards the amazing work they do!
